Establish the Baseline, Then Chase the Number That's Off
Before a demo comes off the rack, we run a handful of swings on the driver already in your bag to pin down your current spin axis, spin rate, and launch angle. That gives every candidate afterward something concrete to be compared against instead of a vague sense of "better."
Heads and shafts get cycled through the Release Bay against that baseline, and a shortlist emerges well before we start tracking carry distance on the range. Full-flight testing at the end confirms the shortlist actually performs the way the release numbers predicted.
What a Driver Session Actually Adjusts
Spin Axis
The tilt behind a slice or hook shape. We chase this number first, ahead of loft or head style, because curvature dominates dispersion more than almost anything else on a driver shot.
Spin Rate & Launch Window
Carry drops off sharply once spin drifts too far from your personal window — too much and shots balloon, too little and they die early. We land on the number specific to your ball speed.
Face Angle at Address
Adjustable hosels let us fine-tune this in small increments once spin axis is under control, rather than using face angle to paper over a head that was never a match to begin with.
Moment of Inertia
Higher-MOI heads shrug off mishits better; lower-MOI designs give a workable player more shot- shaping control. We match this to how much shot-shaping you actually want to do.
Shaft Weight
The single biggest lever on swing timing outside of the flex letter itself. Get the weight class right and the head tends to release exactly when your body expects it to.
Grip Diameter
A grip that's a size off changes how active your hands are through impact, which can quietly reopen a spin axis problem we'd otherwise consider solved.
Driver Misses We See Every Week
Consistent Left-to-Right Curve
Sometimes a path problem, sometimes just equipment amplifying a small path issue into a bigger one. Correcting spin axis narrows curvature noticeably while a swing change catches up separately.
Shots That Never Get Off the Ground
Frequently a spin rate that's too low for the launch angle being produced. Once the release numbers are visible, this is usually the fastest fix in the whole session.
High, Weak Flight That Dies in the Wind
Too much spin rate relative to ball speed. A different head or shaft combination brings the trajectory down without sacrificing the carry you're used to.
